The Lakehead Thunderwolves will be in Southern Ontario for a three-game road trip, beginning with a game in Waterloo where the Wolves will take on the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday night. The team will then travel to Toronto for a pair of games against the Ryerson Rams, with the opening face-off set for 7:15 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday nights.
Recent Results
Lakehead swept Concordia at home last weekend in dramatic fashion as the Wolves had to come from behind to take victory in both contests. The Wolves edged the Stingers 4-3 on Friday, followed by a 5-4 overtime win on Saturday.
Waterloo and Ryerson played only one game each last weekend. Waterloo fell 3-1 at home to Laurier on Friday night, while Ryerson downed Queen’s 6-1 in Kingston last Saturday.
Coming into the weekend, Lakehead has a record of 5-5-1 in conference play (5-7-1 overall), good for 7th place in the OUA West Division standings.
Waterloo sits in 9th place with an OUA record of 4-6-1, while Ryerson’s 7-2-2 conference mark put the Rams in 3rd place in the division and ranked #9 in the U Sports Top 10 poll.
Series History
Historically, Lakehead holds the advantage over both of its upcoming opponents with an all-time record of 38-26-2 versus Waterloo and 13-9-0 against Ryerson.
In the most recent meetings with both teams, Lakehead has fallen short, however. The Wolves were blanked 6-0 at Waterloo in the OUA season opener on October 3, and were swept by the Rams at the Fort William Gardens last November by margins of 5-3 and 7-1.

The Thunderwolves’ dormant power play surged back to life in a big way last weekend with a 44.4% success rate against Concordia. Lakehead went 3-for-6 on Friday and 1-for-3 on Saturday for a combined 4-for-9 versus the Stingers.
