The Lakehead Thunderwolves fell 5-4 to the Windsor Lancers in overtime Friday night in Windsor as the Lancers came back from a 3-1 third period deficit to record the victory. Windsor remains red-hot as they are now on a seven game winning streak in OUA regular season play.
The Wolves are now 10-4-2-1 in OUA play, 13-11-2-1 overall. Windsor continues to tighten up the OUA Far West Division race and is now 8-8 in OUA action and 8-11 overall.
Lakehead was led by Captain Jeff Richards with 2 goals while singles came from Dan Speer and Matt Maissonneuve. Andrew Brown added two assists.
Alex White was the star for the Lancers with 3 goals and an assist while Ryan Bresden notched a single and Chad Snihur notched the OT winner.
Shots on goal were 53-51 Lakehead. Reese Kalleitner recorded the win in the Windsor goal while Chris Whitley posted the loss for the Wolves.
