The Lakehead Thunderwolves edged the York Lions 1-0 in a goaltending duel at the Canlan Ice Sports Arena in Toronto on Friday night.

Goaltender Jeff Bosch recorded his first shutout in a Thunderwolves uniform, and Kelin Ainsworth scored the only goal of the game when he beat York netminder Andrew Perugini on the power play at 8:33 of the third period after being set up by Mike Hammond and Mike Quesnele.

Lakehead was 1 for 6 on the power play for the game, while York went 0 for 5 on the night.

The Lions narrowly outshot the Thunderwolves 29-27 in a closely contested game.

The win puts Lakehead in a three-way tie with Toronto and Windsor for first place in the OUA West Division, but the Wolves hold two games in hand over Toronto, and one game in hand over Windsor.

Lakehead and York will square off again tomorrow night with the opening face-off set for 7:00 pm.
