The Lakehead Thunderwolves mens hockey team battled to a hard fought 2-1 win over the York Lions Friday night in Toronto. The win lifts Lakeheads record to 7-2 in OUA play (8-5 overall) while Yorks record goes to 3-2-3 in OUA action (4-7 overall). Lakehead outshot York 29-24.
Lakeheads scoring came from Richard Molenaar and Dan Speer while Jake Van Allen replied for the Lions. Chris Whitley played another strong game in the Lakehead goal to record the win for the Wolves and his OUA record goes to 5-0.
The two teams face off again Saturday afternoon in Toronto at 2:00 pm EST and can be heard live on CKPR 91.5 FM in Thunder Bay and online at www.ckpr.com.
