
Andrew Wilkins collected three awards at the Lakehead University Athletics banquet at a ceremony held at the Law School auditorium on Saturday afternoon.
The fifth-year senior forward was named the Lakehead Male Athlete of the year, and in addition, the Pickering, Ontario native was the recipient of the Argus award as determined by the student newspaper's sports editor.
Wilkins, the Thunderwolves captain, was also named the Most Valuable Player in the individual team awards for hockey.
Lakehead University Male Freshman of the Year honors went to forward Cody Alcock, who was also selected as the top freshman for the hockey team.
Other individual award winners for hockey went to forward Mike Hammond as Best Offensive Player, forward Kelin Ainsworth for Best Work Ethic, and goalie Jeff Bosch for Best Defensive Player.
