Waterloo downs Lakehead 5-1

The Waterloo Warriors came out ready to play and it didn't take them long to get on the board taking only five minutes for Brendan Bowie to break the ice.

Less then four minutes later Max Niel would up the Waterloo lead snapping a shot past Lakehead's Max Wright to up the lead to 2-0.

Waterloo's Connor Lovie would make it 3-0 only :22 into the period with a shot from the top of the zone.

The Wolves would start to up the pressure after going down 3-0. They would get multiple chances in the period but Onuska would close the door each time.

Midway through the second Warriors goaltender Matt Onuska have to leave the game with an injury after a scuffle in front of the net. Dan Murphy would come in to take over in net.

Warriors Adamo Santia would strike late in the period to increase the Warriors lead to 4-0 heading into the break.

The Wolves would continue to pressure the Warriors defence in the 3rd but Dan Murphy would keep closing the door on the Wolves.

The Thunderwolves would finally get on the board late in the third period when freshmen Nicolas De Grazia would get his first as a Wolve.

Waterloo would seal the game when Cole Fraser would slide the puck into the empty net late in the period to make the final 5-1.

Wright would stop 21 of 26 shots Onuska would stop 20 of 20 and Dan Murphy would stop 29 of 30 shots.
