Lakehead Thunderwolves men's hockey team second year Star Forward Jeff Richards (Kenora, Ont. Second Year General Arts) was chosen as the Ontario University Athletics Association Athlete of The Week for his outstanding play over the weekend, leading Lakehead to 9-2 and 8-3 victories over the No. 6 York Lions.
The "Kenora Komet" sparked the Thunderwolves to two victories by scoring 3 goals and 5 assists and using his lightning speed to constantly beat the Lions to the puck and create offensive and defensive havoc during regular strength, penalty kill, and power play situations. Richard's weekend display puts him into fifth place in OUA points leaders with 14 points off 6 goals and 8 assists.
