The Lakehead Thunderwolves mens hockey lost to the No. 10 Waterloo Warriors 7-3 Friday night at the Fort William Gardens in Thunder Bay. Lakehead now has a 2-1 OUA mark (3-4 overall) while Waterloo is 3-1 in OUA play and 4-3-1 overall.

Lakehead came out fast; building an early 2-0 lead in the first and went into the first intermission leading 3-2. However, the Warriors scored five unanswered goals; three in the second and two in the third to get the victory. Lakehead outshot Waterloo 38-22 on the night.
Waterloo freshman netminder Jhase Sniderman played a solid game for the Warriors and made a number of key stops to ensure the win. Lakehead freshman netminder Kyle Moir had a tough night; allowing six goals.
It was a hard hitting game with few penalties but the Warriors made the powerplay opportunities count; going 2-4 on the powerplay while the Wolves went 0-3.
Brock McPherson led the Wolves with a pair of goals and Dan Speer added a single. Speer also added an assist and Jordan C. Smith had a pair of helpers.
Waterloos Sean Roche paced the Warriors; scoring a natural hat trick and singles were notched by Doug Spooner, Jordan Brenner, Chris Ray and Cody Fraser.
