The Lakehead Thunderwolves mens hockey team fell to the visiting AHL Manitoba Moose 8-1 Friday night at the Fort William Gardens in Thunder Bay before 3070 fans.
Lakeheads sole tally came from Dan Speer in the third period assisted by Andrew Brown. Manitoba was led by Tyler Beechey and Marc-Andre Bernier with 2 goals and an assist each while Matt Craig, Andrew Contois, Milan Gajic, and Nick Naumenko notched singles.
The Moose outshot the Thunderwolves 60-29 in the match. Lakehead goaltender Chris Whitley made a lot of good saves; making 52 saves on the night. Moose netminders Julien Ellis and Mike Ayers were both solid in the Manitoba net.
