Caught up in a numbers game, sophomore defenceman Danick Malouin has decided to leave the Lakehead hockey program, andcould possibly look into transferring to another school closer to home. The Granby, Quebec native had appeared in six games for the Wolves this season, recording one assist.
With nine defenceman on the Thunderwolves roster at the start of the year, Malouin saw limited playing time so far this season. With the return to the line-up of rearguards Mitch Fillman and Jay Gilbert, who had missed most of the first half of the OUA campaign with injuries, Malouins chances to see regular playing time became even less likely.
AfterMalouins departure, Lakehead still has eight defencemen on the roster.
