Lakehead came out ready to play on Friday night against their division rivals the Waterloo Warriors.
Keghan Gerrie would get his first of two on the night in the first period when he buried a Joe Mack pass past Waterloo's Dan Murphy.
Waterloo would answer 4 minutes later when Jacob Cascagnette would slide one past Christian Cicigoi to even up the game.
Tyler Ho would pick up a lose puck in the Waterloo zone and feed Mack who would one time it past Murphy to put Lakehead up 2-1 heading into the break.
Lakehead would strike quickly in to the second when Geoff Dempster would clean up a rebound from a Spencer Blackwell shot. and bang it past Murphy to up the lead to 3-1.
Keghan Gerrie would pick up his second of the game finishing off a passing play involving Griffen Fox and Spencer Blackwell.
Waterloo's Dan Walker would find the back of the net near the end of the second period to cut Lakehead's lead to 4-2 heading into the intermission.
Tyler Ho and Griffen Fox would round out the scoring for Lakehead with Fox scoring into the empty net.to make the final 6-2 and give Lakehead their 7th straight win.
Lakehead's Christian Cicigoi would stop 29 of 31 shots he faced in the game.
Lakehead completes their 3 game road trip against the Laurier Golden Hawks at the Waterloo Memorial Rec Complex at 7pm.
