The Lakehead Thunderwolves made a strong statement against the Guelph Gryphon's in pummeling them 9-1 in the Annual Teddy Bear toss game\and the win gave Head Coach Andrew Wilkins his 70th regular season win of his Thunderwolves coaching career.

Jack Cook would get things going on the power play one timing a Blackwell pass past Cal Schell to send the teddy bears raining down on the ice to the delight of a season high 3043 amazing fans.

Nicholas De Grazia would put the Wolves up by two shortly after finishing off a pass from Josh Van Unen.

Lakehead would keeping it going in the 2nd with Keighan Gerrie finishing off a beautiful passing play to pick up his first of the game and the fans were in a frenzy with the Wolves up by 3.

Guelph would try to quiet the gardens when Nolan Dann on the power play would get one past Carson Cherepak to cut the lead to 3-1.

The Wolves would have none of it as Gerrie would get his second of the game burying a pass from Joe Mack which in turn would chase Guelph's Cal Schell from the net and bring in the previous nights winning goalie Tanner Wickware.

Olivier Pouliot would be sprung on a breakaway and would be hooked by Ethan Casper and he would get a penalty shot as a result. Pouliot would skate in and make no mistake snapping a shot under the glove of Wickware to get the building rocking again.

The third period would see the the Wolves continue the scoring barrage with Riley Sharun picking up his first as a Thunderwolve just under 5 minutes into the period. Dylan Massie would convert a pass from Tyler Turpin to up the Wolves lead to 7-1

Justin Paul would strike on the power play shovelling a Van Unen pass behind Wickware the dismay of the Guelph penalty killers. Keighan Gerrie would complete the hatrick on the powerplay late in the game to send everyone home very happy with a 9-1 Wolves win and the last home game of the first half.

The Wolves would collect 33 bags of teddy bears this evening on Jack Cooks goal. We would like to thank the greatest fans in the OUA for their support once again in our annual Teddy Bear toss event. The charities that recieve these and distribute them will put alot of smiles on alot of childrens faces. Thank you again!
