Lakehead will playn the number one seed in the OUA West Toronto Metropolitan Bold.
Lakehead is coming off of a huge series win over longtime rivals the Western Mustangs in the first round annd TMU Bold recieved a first round bye due to being the number one seed.
The last meeting betweeen Lakehead and TMU was early in the regular season where the Bold swept the Wolves at the Gardens in October by scores of 5-2 and 6-2.
The Wolves and TMU last met in the playoffs in 2020 when TMU swept the the series with scores of 4-1 and 2-1. Before this series the only other time these two teams met was back in the 2013 playoffs with Lakeahead sweeping them in the second round with scores of 7-0 and 5-1.
Lakehead's Christian Cicigoi posted a .927 sabve percentage and a 2.02 goals against average in the first round series against the Western Mustangs. Spencer Blackwell (4G 2A 6PTS) and Josh Van Unen (3G 1A 4PTS) lead they way with the offence in the first round series. Josh Van Unen also scored both game winning goals in Game 2 and 3 of the series.
