Lakehead came ready to play and they did not mess around.
It took only 2:51 into the game for Luca Fasciano to pick up a loose puck in the high slot and blast it past Carleton netminder Tye Austin.
Lakehead would keep the pressure on in the period and get ample chances to up the lead but it would take a shot from Nikolas Campbell to beat the Carleton goalie late in the frame to head to the intermisson up 2-0.
Lakehead would keep the petal to the metal in the second with Justin Paul getting on the scoresheet with a beauty on the powerplay. Lakehead would out shoot Carleton 30-15 through 2 periods.
The third would see Carleton get on the board when Alex Johhnston would get one past Christian Cicigoi to cut into Lakehead's lead.
But hold on Lakehead would answer right back when Nikolas Campbell would strike for his second of the night cleaning up a rebound in front of the net to restore the 3 goal lead.
Lakehead was not finished just yet as Nicholas De Grazia would up the lead to 5-1 on the powerplay when he would bang in a rebound in front of the net.
It was Lakehead's night and 2645 fans would go home happy with their team skating to a 5-1 victory over the Carleton Ravens.
