York would get a few good scoring opportunities before they would strike in the last minute of the period when Benjamin Evanish would wrist a pass from Brendan McCarthy past Max Wright to bring the Lions within one.
The Lions would tie the game up :30 later when the puck squirts out of a scrum along the right boards and McAndrew would pick it up and feed it to David D'Agostino and he would find Lucas Theriault and he would beat Max Wright with a backhander.
This game would need overtime to settle it. Both teams would have early chances but it would be Lakehead who would strike when Joe Mack was sent in by Kyle Auger and wrists the game winner topshelf past York's Carter Serhyneko.
