Lakehead Splits with the Blues

The big boys showed up tonight to lead the Wolves to a 5-3 win over the Blues.

Toronto would take an early penalty and Olivier Pouliot would make them pay finishing off a tic tac goal passing play with Keighan Gerrie and Josh Van Unen to put the Wolves up 1-0.

The Blues would answer back later in the period when Julian Recine would pick up a loose puck in front and wrist it past Carson Cherepak to tie the game at 1.

Dylan Massie would put the Wolves back on top over a minute later with a blistering slap shot from the right cirle which would go ver the shoulder of Resar and pop the water bottle off the net.

In the second period Justin Paul would get his first as a Wolf  taking a pass from Ben Badalamenti and snapping a shot from the slot past Resar putting the Wolves up 3-1.

Julian Recine would get the Blues back within one just over 3 minutes later when he would wrist a pass from Mark Cooper past Cherepak to the dismay of the 1984 in attendance.

In the third period Malte Hasselgren would stickhandle in on a breakaway and deek around Resar to put the Wolves back up by 2.

Zack Smith would get the Blues back to with one again with a tip on a Mark Cooper point shot.

Justin Paul would seal the game with an empty net goal from Lakehead's end of the ice.

Lakehead would outshoot Toronto 39-23 in the game

The Wolves hit the road next weekend \to face the RMC Paladins on Thursday at 7pm and the Queen's Gaels on Friday at 7:30pm
