The Lakehead University Thunderwolves hockey team is pleased to announce that defenceman Tyler Jette of Farmington, Minnesota has committed to the program.

The 6’3”, 205-pound rearguard was a finalist for the “Mr. Hockey” award following the 2015-16 season, given to the most outstanding player in Minnesota State High School Hockey.

Jette signed with the Tri-City Americans of the WHL for the 2016-17 campaign before moving on to the Sherwood Park Crusaders of the AJHL for his final two seasons of junior hockey in 2017-18 and 2018-19.  He recorded 33 points in 53 games while serving as the Crusaders’ captain last year.

Wolves’ Head Coach Andrew Wilkins likes what Jette will bring to the team.  “Tyler has the ability to make plays all over the ice.  He shows a lot of poise and will add stability to our defensive unit.”

Jette, who will be enrolled in the General Arts program, is excited to make his commitment to Lakehead.  “I was very impressed with the school and the facilities during my visit, and that made choosing Lakehead an easy decision,” he said.  “I’m looking forward to becoming a part of the community and representing the Thunderwolves.”
