The 2023-24 Lakehead Thunderwolves kick off the preseason with two games in Winnipeg this weekend.
The Wolves will faceoff against the Manitoba Bisons of the Canada West Conference of Usports Friday night at 7pm.
Lakehead bolsters a 10-8-1 all time record vs the Bisons. In those 19 games the teams are equal with 70 goals scored for and 70 goals scored against.
Last year in the preseason the Wolves downed the Bisons 6-2 with Christian Cicigoi picking up his first win as a Thunderwolve.
On Saturday night the Wolves will square off with the Regina Cougars of the Canada West Conference
Lakehead holds a 5-1-1 edge on Regina all-time and have out scored them 33-23 in the previous 7 meetings.
Last year in they edged Regina 6-5 in overtime with Colin Van Den Hurk netting the winner in the contest.
The Wolves will kick off the regular season on Oct 6-7 as they head to St. Catherine's, Ontario to do battle with longtime rival the Brock Badgers.
