Lakehead had their hands full again with the Nipissing Lakers yet again as they kept pace with the Wolves and both netminders stood tall in a low scoring hard fought 3-1 Wolves win.
The first period saw Lakehead break the ice at the midway point when Spencer Blackwell would one time a pass from Nicolas De Grazia past Zach Roy to the delight of the 2460 in attendance.
After the opening goal both teams would get ample chance to score but the goalies held their own and sent the teams to the intermission with Lakehead up 1-0.
The second would be more of the same with both goalies stopping some great scoring chances but Lakehead would find the twine just past the midway point when Malte Hasselgren would convert pass from Olivier Pouliot on a 2 on 1 and go top shelf on the open side of the net to put the Wolves up 2-0.
The third period would see the Lakers get on the board just as their powerplay would expire when Tyson Tomasini would fire a point shot that would beat a screened Christian Cicigoi to cut the Wolves lead to 2-1.
With the Nipissing goalie on the bench the Wolves would force a Laker turnover and Dylan Massie would push the puck forward to Richard Whittaker who would deposit it into the empty net to seal the 3-1 win for the Wolves.
