As the 2024/25 season kicks off, the Lakehead Thunderwolves are set to face the University of Toronto Varsity Blues in a thrilling series at Fort William Gardens this Friday and Saturday.
With an anticipated crowd of over 2,000 fans, excitement is high as the Thunderwolves aim to build on their recent success.
Lakehead comes off two competitive seasons, highlighted by a deep Queens Cup playoff run in 2023, where they defeated the Varsity Blues in a memorable Game 3 to reach the conference finals. This year, the team looks poised to replicate that success, driven by standout players including last years rookie sensation Nick DeGrazia, former rookie of the year Josh Van Unen, and local third year goaltender Christian Cicigoi, who will be crucial in net as they seek to assert their dominance in the OUA West.
Head Coach Andrew Wilkins and centreman Joe Mack, are serving suspensions stemming from last year's playoffs.
Come out and support the Thunderwolves as they embark on another promising season.
Side note: Please remember to avoid bringing any large bags or backpacks into the arena as baggage checks will be put in place at the gate.
