Nicholas De Grazia would up the lead shortly after finishing off a pass from Josh Van Unen.
Queen's would answer right back when Liam Tanner would bang home a rebound in front of Carson Cherepak to cut the lead to 2-1 at the end of the period.
The second would see Queen's net the only goal of the period on the powerplay off of the stick of Samuel Marburg.
The third would see both teams get multiple scoring chances but the game remained tied after regulation.
Overtime would not solve anything so a shootout was needed. Queens would come out on top in the shootout out scoring Lakehead 2-1 for the win.
