Lakehead takes Game 1 of the Christmas Challenge 6-0.

Josh Van Unen did not show any signs of rust from the Christmas break as he exploded for a hat trick to lead the way for the Wolves.

The Wolves would not waste anytime getting on the board in the 1st period getting two goals in a span of :26 by Josh Van Unen and Kevin Stiles to get the early 2-0 lead.

Josh Van Unen would up the lead to three finishing off a pass from Keighan Gerrie and wristing it past Bison's netminder Simon Harkness.

The Wolves would head into the break up 3-0 and out shooting the Bison's 11-8.

Ben Badalamenti would add to the lead only:48 seconds into the second period neatly tucking a backhand past Harkness.

Van Unen would complete his hat trick late in the 2nd when he would need some fancy stick work and to keep the puck on his stick and a quick turn around and a wrist shot that would drop in behind Harkness to send the tems to the break with the Wolves up 5-0 and outshooting the Bisons 23-13.

Troy Williams would net his first of the season with a nifty wrist shot that would beat Ross Hawryluk to up the score to 6-0 which would end up being the final.
