Thunderwolves win 5-3 over McGill in the Annual Teddy Bear game.
Lakehead wasted no time in getting the 2838 fans in attendance on their feet and throwing Teddy Bears on the ice when Jack Miles in his first game of the season would bang in a loose puck to break the ice.
McGill would strike before the period was half way over when Eric Uba would find the back of the net to even the score.
Lakehead would strike twice in the 2nd period when Tyler Ho and Colin Van Den Hurk on the Powerplay to put the Wolves up 3-1.
The Red Birds would answer back when Mikisiw Awashish would beat Max Wright to cut the defict to 3-2.
Ed McNiell would exit the penalty after the Wolves killed of a late penalty and be sprung on a partiall breakaway by Colin Van Den Hurk and would wrist a shot top shelf past Alexis Shank to restore the 2 goal lead heading into the break.
McGill's Taylor Ford would strike 1:06 into the 3rd to cut the lead to 4-3.
Lakehead's Griffin Fox would finish off the scoring with :27 seconds left in the game slipping the puck into the empty McGill net.
After the empty net goal McGill's Zach Gallant would flip the net over in frustration and would be swiftly ejected from the game for his actions. Tempers would flare up after the game when players from both teams would get into a scuffle and as a result 22 minutes in penalties would be handed out.

Lakehead will head on the road next weekend to Toronto to play Toronto Metropolitian Bold to end the first half of the season. Game time is 6pm on Friday and 7pm on Saturday.
