The Lakehead Thunderwolves concluded their preseason play with a convincing 5-0 win over the Regina Cougars.
The Wolves were readey for Regina and it showed from puck drop as they created plenty of opportunies early and often. It took til just after midway through the first for the ice to be broken when freshmen Nicolas De Grazia would find an open Keighan Gerrie for his first of the preseason as he would wrist a beautiful shot past Regina netminder Curtis Meger.
The Wolves would strike 1:14 later when Kevin Stiles would convert a Josh Van Unen pass to up the lead to 2-0 heading to the break.
The second period would see freshmen Ed McNeill blast his first goal as a Thunderwolve past the Cougars netminder on the glove side.
Keighan Gerrie would net his second of the game 5:30 later one timing a Nicolas De Grazia pass top shelf to send the teams to break with Lakehead up 4-0.
The only goal of the third would come shorthanded off of the stick of Cole Edwards as he would convert a beautiful Pass from Dylan Massie to put the game away and give the Lakehead Thunderwolves the 5-0 win . Christian Cicigoi would stop all 37 shots he faced picking up the shutout.

Lakehead now gets some down time before they head to St. Catherine's to start the regular on Oct 6-7 and lace up to do battle with long time rival the Brock Badgers.
