Lakehead starts their three game road trip on the right note cruising to a 7-3 win over the Guelph Gryphons.
Lakehead would score two quick goals in the first period when Griffon Fox and freshmen Keighan Gerrie score two minutes and twenty seconds apart.
The second period would see Lakehead's Joe Mack, Kevin Stiles(powerplay) and Colin Van Den Hurk(powerplay) would score in a two minute and twenty seven second span and put them up 5-0.
Spencer Blackwell would round out the scoring in the period with a shorthanded marker to send Lakehead into the break up 6-0.
The third would see Guelph's Luke Bignell score twice and Nolan DeGruse find the backof the net in a span of four minutes and fourteen secondsto bring the Gryphons within three.
Ben Badalamenti would score in the empty net to seal the game for Lakehead by a score of 7-3.
Christian Cicigoi would stop 39 of 42 shots.
