The Lakehead Thunderwolves were the cardiac kids in Game 2 as they waited until the last minute of the game to win it.
Western got on the board midway through the first period as Zach Power would pick up a rebound in front and back hand it passed Cicigoi to take the early lead.
The Mustangs would add to the lead in quickly into the second period when Jack Sander would roof his shot from a bad angle on Cicigoi to put the Mustangs up 2-0.
Lakehead would finally break the goose egg in the third period when Dylan Massie would tip in a Will Murphy point shot past Matteo Drobac to cut the lead to 2-1.
Lakehead would keep pushing and with 1:09 to go in the game Spencer Blackwell would redirect a Malte Hasselgren point shot past Drobac to tie the game up at 2-2.
The Wolves would continue to push and they would complete the comeback when Josh Van Unen would knock in a rebound from a Nicholas De Grazia shot past Matteo Drobac to give the Wolves the 3-2 win and tied up the Best of 3 series at 1-1.
