Kris Hogg of mens hockey and Loriana Costanzo of womens track are this weeks Lakehead Thunderwolves RBC Athletes of the Week. Hogg exploded offensively vs. the RMC Paladins while Costanzo scored a huge win at a major US track meet in Minneapolis.
Male: Kris Hogg: Mens Hockey
The freshman forward blew up in the Wolves two-game homestand vs. the RMC Paladins. The H.B. Commerce student from Sicamous, British Columbia recorded a hat trick in Lakeheads 8-2 win Friday and then notched 2 goals and 3 assists in the Wolves 8-3 victory on Saturday for weekend two-game total of 5 goals and 3 assists.
Female: Loriano Costanzo: Womens Track
The junior Kinesiology student from Thunder Bay, Ontario had an incredible weekend at the prestigious Northwest Open meet Saturday in Minneapolis hosted by the University of Minnesota and featuring NCAA teams from the Midwest US.
Costanzo took gold in the womens 800 metres race in a new personal best time. She also helped lead the Wolves 4 x 400 metres team to a new school record.
