The Lakehead Thunderwolves went to Manitoba with one thing on their minds: Win. They did that on Friday night against the Manitoba Bisons.
The Wolves came out hungry with two goals in the first six minutes of the first period when Dylan Massie and Olivier Pouliot would strike with even strength goals.
Manitoba would pull with in one when forward Hooker would strike on the powerplay beating freshmen netminder Christian Cicigoi midway through the first period.
Lakhead would bulge the twine twice in the second period when Joe Mack coverted a Colin Blackwell pass and Kyle Auger strike while Shorthanded and put the Wolves up 4-1 heading to the third.
In the third Lakehead would put the game away when Griffen Fox would bury a Kyle Auger pass and Joe Mack would tally an unassisted goal in a span of 1:14 to put the Wolves up 6-1.
Manitoba's Basarab would strike late to make the score 6-2.
Lakehead would out shoot Manitoba 17-16 in the game.
