Lakehead University male freshman athlete of the year honors went to forward Billy Jenkins and the Ottawa, ON native was also named the hockey teams best offensive player at the Lakehead University Athletics awards ceremony held at the law school auditorium on Saturday afternoon.
Junior forward Cody Alcock of Oshawa, ON was chosen as the teams most valuable player.
Jake Ringuette (Goderich, ON) was selected as the hockey teams top freshman. Other individual awards went to junior goalie Justin McDonald (Turtleford, SK) for best work ethic and freshman goalie Devin Green (Calgary, AB) for best defensive player.
