The Lakehead Thunderwolves mens hockey team fell to the Michigan Tech Huskies 6-1 Friday night in Houghton, Michigan in the second game of their circle tour around Lake Superior.
Lakeheads lone tally came from Tobias Whelan on the powerplay while the Huskies were paced by Ryan Angelo with a pair of goals with singles coming from Malcolm Gwilliam, Tyler Skworchinski, Eli Vlaisavljevich, and Phil Axtell.
Michigan Tech outshot Lakehead 43-17 on the night. Lakehead was given 11 penalties to Techs 9 while the Thunderwolves went 1-6 on the powerplay and the Huskies were 2-9 with the man advantage.
The Thunderwolves complete their Lake Superior NCAA Circle Tour Saturday night when they play in the special 40th Anniversary Game for Lakers hockey against the Lake Superior State Lakers in Sault. Ste. Marie, Michigan. .
