OTTAWA (CIS) Lakehead University hockey player Kris Hogg is the Canadian Interuniversity Sportmale athlete of the week for the period ending January 13, 2008. Hogg, a first-year H.B. commerce student from Sicamous, B.C. exploded for five goals and eight points as the No. 6 Thunderwolves (14-3-0-1) swept a weekend doubleheader against RMC (7-12-0-2). The six-foot, 188-pound right-winger netted a hat trick in an 8-2 win on Friday and added two goals and three assists in an 8-3 victory on Saturday to help the Wolves climb into a tie with No. 8 Western (13-3-0-3) atop the OUA Far West standings.
UNB hockey player Dustin Friesen, Laval basketball player Jean-Philippe Morin and Manitoba volleyball player Drew Venables were the other male nominees.
