The Lakehead Thunderwolves mens hockey team has completed its training camp and Lakehead Head Coach Don McKee announced the Wolves final roster today.

Lakehead will carry a squad of two goaltenders, eight defencemen, and 13 forwards when they begin the OUA regular season next weekend in Windsor against the Lancers.

The goaltenders this season will be senior Chris Whitley and freshman Kyle Moir.

The defensive corps will be made up of senior Drew Kivell, fifth year senior Matt Jacques, sophomore Andy Zulyniak, junior Dan Rogers, sophomore Jordan C. Smith, freshman Mitch Maunu, freshman Pierre-Marc Guillbault, and freshman Jordan B. Smith.

Lakeheads forwards will be senior Andrew Brown, fifth year senior Mike Wehrstedt, senior Tobias Whelan, senior Brad Priestlay, junior Dan Speer, junior Shandor Alphonso, sophomore Mark Soares, sophomore Brock McPherson, senior Richard Molenaar, senior Matt Maisonneuve, sophomore Nathan Breukelman, freshman Devin Welsh, and freshman Kris Hogg.

Forward Scott Dobben will continue to practice with the Wolves this season as a redshirt in preparation to joining the team next season. Forward Konrad Bruetsch will also practice with the team as a redshirt.

Released from the team were sophomore goaltender Matti Korhonen, freshman defenceman Stephen Kapolnas, sophomore forward Ryan Maunu, and fifth year senior defenceman Steve Rawski.

Rawski, after long discussion with Coach McKee, has accepted McKees offer to move from the ice to the media box; acting as team spotter during home games and assisting the coaching staff with game analysis.

McKee said Rawski has been a valuable member of the Wolves for four seasons and looks forward to working with Rawski in this new capacity. I want to express my great appreciation for Steves four years of service to Lakehead Hockey as a leader of the defensive corps. I look forward to seeing him successfully completing his Business Administration degree and am very happy he will remain with the team in his new capacity.
