Thunderwolves forward Matt Caria (Sault St. Marie, ON) is back at Lakehead University after taking part in the Carolina Hurricanes NHL training camp. Caria was unable to come to a contract agreement with the Hurricanes AHL affiliate in Charlotte, North Carolina and will be skating with the Wolves this week.
Caria joined the team at mid-season last year, and made an immediate impact as a freshman. He scored 13 goals and 22 assists for 35 points in only 24 games. The Wolves are expecting Caria to have an even bigger impact in his sophomore year, now that he will have a full season to work with and NHL training camp experience under this belt.
The team will practice today and tomorrow from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the Tournament Centre before returning to their regular season home at the Fort William Gardens on September 26.
